20050722 CHINA - Nam Tso
The turquoise-blue Nam Tso is a sacred lake to Tibetan, 2nd biggest saline lake after QingHai lake. It is 1100m higher than Lhasa. Swimming is strictly forbidden. Have suffered acute mountain sickness after climbing up the hill beside the lake, the headache was not fun. The view over the lake is splendid. No industrial pollution, but the scent of fresh grass and mountain dew blended with mild Tibetan unique odor. Some Tibeten tents scattered sporadically with their herds of goats and sheep.
