20050801 CHINA - Urumqi
The days of romanticised bucolic life are long gone from this increasingly teeming city, otherwise known as the furthest place in the world from an ocean (2250km). The city is industrialized and well developed but air pollution is relatively heavy. It is boring but the Er Dao Qiao night bazaar is worth for a visit. Many food stalls around, mainly Uighur traditional meals.
