It is the leading Tibetan monastery town outside of Lhasa. The religious focal point is Labrang Lamasery, one of the six major temples of the Gelugpa order (Yellow Hat sect). A special religious festival was held during our visit. Masked performers were performing mythological epics. Elder women forced and squeezed their way rudely to the front line neglecting our complaints. We gave up at last because we couldn’t understand single bit of it. Met a teenage monk Jin Ba Jia Cuo, he made me better understanding of the monks life. The horse riding on the Sangke Grassland was exhilarating, but was not comfortable on the bouncing horseback.
