20050903 CHINA - Da Tong

The Main attraction is the magnificent Yungang Caves. I prefer these caves than Dunhuang, all the caves here are open for tourists, more original and much less restrictions as imposed in Dunhuang. The Hanging Monastery is beautiful but small and narrow. It has been very well kept from natural erosion due to its strategic position protected from scorching sunlight, wind and rain.  Not allowed to visit the remnant of Qing dynasty fortress.
