20050910 CHINA - Beijing -Ming Tombs
The Ming Tombs, about 50km northwest of Beijing, are the final resting place of 13 of the 16 Ming Emperors. Only 3 tombs have been opened to the public: Chang Ling, Ding Ling and Zhao Ling. While only Ding Ling is unearthed, the underground tomb is particularly interesting though not exceptionally impressive. Lots of artifacts inside the tombs are re-produce to demonstrate the original tomb orientation.
