20050912 CHINA - Beijing - Jing Shan Park
It was shaped from the earth excavated to create the palace moat. The hill supposedly protects the palace from evil spirit - or dust storm - from the north. It was Beijing's highest point during the Ming Dynasty. Probably this is the cheapest (entrance fees RMB 2) park in Beijing. Lots of elders & retirees gathered and organize activities like social dancing, singing, playing chess etc. The view over Forbidden City from the temple is breathtaking.
