Shanghai is just a metropolitan, it's crowded though not suffocating. The Bund is beautiful especially at night. The quieter east bank (Pu Dong side) is a haven for lovers. The huge blocks of mixed colonial style architectures exhibit to the world the glory of Shanghaiin the past. For tourists, this is just an ordinary modern city, no historical scene nor superb nature view, and no mythical holy religion nor precious traditional culture is seen. In contrast, all latest modern entertainments are available. Shanghai Arts Gallery has good collection and exhibition of high quality paintings.
