Do not expect spectacular historical sites or huge temples here. Luang Prabang is neat, quiet and has its own charm. There are some nice “wats” (temples) in town, the monks are friendly and you could conduct a pleasant conversation with them. The 1.5 hr boat tour (upstream) to Pak Ou Cave is among the tourist programs which including a few stops to local villages (very commercial).
