Had 3 reasons to re-visit China. (1) to accompany friends to visit Beijing, XiAn and ZhengZhou (2) to snap the winter scene photos of snowing Beijing, the climate was cold though not snowing, this mission was not realized. (3) to cover the south-east part of China.
This trip was fun though lacking of excitement. Food savoring is my side mission too.
Also noted the hygiene of public toilets have been well improved.

你好!
The trip to China was excellent! The 3 month journey merely covered some major scenes in China. I couldn’t make it to Guang Xi and Gui Zhou provinces to visit the minority tribes. The visit to Tibet was incomplete too, simply because the Tibetan local authorities refused to extend my China tourist visa and I couldn’t organize my trip around Lhasa and Everest base camp.
Backpacking in China is pretty easy and convenient. Accommodations, transportations and foods are generally well organized and good quality. Ability to speak Chinese is definitely a plus. Was fun to meet many backpackers and local friends on the road, exchanging info and sharing thoughts. Folks are helpful and friendly, and safe.
Admission fees is charged on almost every tourist scene, was too high in my opinion though I agreed with that maintenance is not cheap. Guess most of the tourists are very much “impressed” by the public toilets condition, especially in the rural areas. Most of them are filthy, have no water flushing system. The most embarrassing is that there is no partition in between and we are sharing “intimacy” openly though not invited.
The diversity of cultures, profound histories and magnificent landscapes of this big country should not be missed on your traveling list.
Enjoy!
